While Kapil Sharma spends his evenings making people laugh, his
brother Ashok Kumar Sharma is a head constable with the Amritsar rural
police who has been countering Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists in Pathankot.
According to a report in a leading daily, Ashok Kumar, along with 80 other cops were rushed to the airbase and along with his colleagues blocked any possible escape route by the terrorists. Along with his colleagues, Sharma had been doing 20-hour shifts, only stopping to eat or sleep. Ashok is a big fan of Kapil’s show, and has met Rishi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan on the sets of his brother’s TV show.
Their father, Jatinder Kumar was also a cop and died of cancer in 2004.
